How to Bleed the Air from the Brake Circuit of a Komatsu Forklift

 This article explains how to bleed the air out of the brake circuit of a Komatsu forklift

• Bleeding air from brake circuits
# This procedure should be carried out whenever work is
performed on the brake circuit to remove or replace a
component, or when air enters the circuit. 
 
#The machine should be stopped, with the equipment to
the ground. 
 
1 -Make sure the oil in the brake system oil tank (1) is at
max level.



 
 

   
2 -Remove the safety caps and apply a clear hose (3) to the bleed screws (2) to collect the oil. 
 
3 -Press the brake pedal to the floor and simultaneously loosen the bleed screw (2) of the brake unit under main  tenance until the pedal reaches the end of its travel. 
 
4 -Hold the pedals at the end of their travel while simulta  neously tightening the bleed screw (2). 
 
5 -Release the brake pedal, wait a few seconds, and re peat the steps described so far until there are no bubbles in the oil coming out of the bleed screw. 

6 -Repeat the same steps on the other brake units.
# Frequently check the oil level in the oil tank and fill
whenever the level is near minimum.
#At the end of the bleeding procedure, apply the safe
ty caps to the screws (2).

    (1) SAA6D125E-3 diesel engine complies with strict emission regulations: US EPA standard (2001 regulation), European regulation 2002, Japanese construction equipment regulation 2003, it is a diesel engine with high performance, high efficiency, low fuel consumption and low noise,

 (5) SAA6D125E-3 diesel engine and SAA6D107E-1 diesel engine adopt electronically controlled common rail fuel injection system and the design of optimal divergence characteristics at low temperature startup, which improves startup performance and reduces white smoke emission. 

 (6) The turbocharger used on the 125E-2 diesel engine is improved, so that the air supply cycle part can control the impact at the end of the compressor, so that the performance is optimal, the speed range from low speed to high speed is wider, and the fuel consumption is lower .

  (7) The thickness of the top surface of the cylinder block is increased, which can prevent deformation after long-term operation and make remanufacturing easier. In addition, by increasing the rigidity of the main reinforcement, the rigidity of the main body is improved, the deformation and vibration under load are reduced, and the generation of various noises is prevented. 

 (8) The size of the fuel supply pump of the electronically controlled common rail fuel injection system is 1/3 of the fuel supply pump of the ordinary in-line fuel injection system. In addition, the flange is used instead of the mounting seat, and it is tightly connected with the timing gearbox, thereby reducing noise.

  (9) The air filter is changed from ordinary end face seal to radial seal to prevent dust from entering and damaging parts. Additionally, a 5-segment display-type air filter clogging sensor provides accurate information on cleaning times.  

(10) The oil filter is a filter that combines high performance and high efficiency.

(11) The fuel filter is a special fuel filter with high performance and high efficiency, which can filter out small particles of dirt and protect the electronically controlled common rail fuel injection system. 

 (12) If the electronic control unit judges that the diesel engine is working abnormally, it will issue a warning and the system will switch to the emergency escape mode. 

 (13) After starting the diesel engine at a very low temperature, if the diesel engine speed suddenly increases, the overload will apply excessive load to the bearing before the lubrication is sufficient, which will reduce the service life of the diesel engine, especially the overload will damage Non-locating bearings for turbochargers. In order to prevent this situation, a turbo protection system is installed to limit the diesel engine speed.

Komatsu of Engine Air Filter Moval and Installation Gudie

Removal
1 -Unscrew and remove the cap (1) from the surge tank (2).
2 -Loosen and remove the screws (3), remove the surge
tank (2), and position the tank aside.



3 -Loosen the clamps (4), (5) and disconnect the outside
air inlet hose (7) and engine intake hose (8) from the filter

4 -Disconnect the air cleaner clogging sensor connector

5 -Loosen and remove the screws (10) together with washers and nuts and remove the filter (6)

Komatsu of Engine Hood Removal and Installation Gudie

Removal
1 -Lift the engine hood (1).


2 -While supporting the engine hood, loosen and remove
the screws (2) retaining the hinges (3).




3 -Remove the cotter pin (4), the backing washer, and disconnect the gas damper (5) from its support (6).

4 -Lower the hood and place an anti-slip block (A) between
lower edge of hood and body; then, strap the hood and
connect it a hoist.
5 -Remove the hood (1).

Installation
• To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1 -Adjust the position of the hood, ensuring that the lock assembly (7) is centred in relation to the retaining hook (8).





2 -Adjust the hinges vertically (3) to allow the closure sealing strip (9) to evenly rest along the length of the hood.
